Veteran cartoonist R.K. Laxman being felicitated with Bharat Bhushan award by former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
Former President APJ Abdul Kalam described renowned cartoonist R.K. Laxman as a man "whose mission in life is to make people smile". Kalam presented the 'Bharat Bhushan' award to Laxman at the Balgandharva Rangmandir in Pune on Sept. 22, 2013.

The Good Road is a 2013 Indian drama film written and directed by Gyan Correa. The film is the first Gujarati film ever selected to represent India at the Oscars. The film deals with three storylines which cross each other on the film's titular highway. “The Good Road” follows a mix of characters who find themselves in peculiar circumstances while traveling on a highway that cuts through the sprawling Rann of Kutch salt marsh on India’s western border.
US Congress failed to enact an annual Federal Budget within the time frame established by law. The federal budget process operates on a fiscal cycle starting 1st OCT to midnight 30th September. All expenditures and funds have to be authorized by the congress and approved by the president. Congress failed to pass the budget within stipulated timelines which led to US government shutdown.
